Shop Small in Baltimore this Season

Small Business Saturday is a movement geared towards encouraging people to Shop Small and support local businesses. Starting in 2011, Small Business Saturday has become an approved movement by local officials in all 50 states! You can participate in this initiative by shopping locally as you check off everything on your holiday gift list. Check out some amazing small shops to support in Baltimore, all not too far from your home at Luminary at One Light.

Harbor East

Join Harbor East in their 2nd Annual Holiday Haul, where you can partake in stress-free shopping on November 25th. There will be festive music, special visits from Santa, food, and drink, giveaways, and more to keep you entertained all day! While having fun, you can also complete your holiday haul with gifts from small and local shops offering a wide variety of gifts. 

Max’s Taphouse

In the mood to go out and celebrate? Head to Max’s Taphouse in Fells Point to enjoy drinks with friends and family. There are tons of drinks to choose from, including a milk stout that tastes like Christmas pancakes and gingerbread for some holiday cheer in a glass. All drinks will be available in 5oz, 10oz, and 16oz for you to enjoy. 

Christmas Village in Baltimore

Take a trip over to the Inner Harbor to check out the Christmas Village for its ninth season! From November 19th until December 24th, you can check out the authentic German Christmas market that will host over 55 vendors, most of which are small businesses that need your support! Enjoy tasty seasonal dishes and traditional German beverages while working on getting your holiday shopping done in time for the holidays.

Shop Small Art Crawl

This event allows art lovers, serious collectors, and holiday shoppers to purchase original art, created in the Mill Centre in Hampden. Art being sold ranges over a huge variety, including metal works, photography, miniatures, and more. With so many unique and one-of-a-kind finds, you can get the bulk of your holiday shopping completed while supporting local and talented artists in Baltimore. 

Small Business Saturday in Hampden

Pop on over to Hampden for fun holiday shopping to support Hampden retailers. You can get a free shopping bag at the Welcome Station to carry all of the fantastic gifts you’ll find. There is also a passport program that allows you to enter to win a Gift Basket, complete with gift cards, food, and other goodies from Hampden retailers participating. For an exciting way to get holiday shopping done while also supporting small shops, Hampden has you covered.

Small Business Saturday/Opening Day

Join Baltimore’s 32nd Street Farmers Market in Waverly on November 26th to celebrate the market’s Winter 2023 Opening Day. Over a dozen vendors will be present, along with musical guests and other activities to keep you entertained. You won’t want to miss out on this event to support small and local artisans and creators in time for the holiday season. 

Mini Small Biz Saturday Market

You can support four small businesses at the R. House in Remington. Vendors include The Stoop, The Glow Co., Fern & Folk, and Maxi Cif Designs. These handmade gifts range from house decor to jewelry, making them a great option for gift-giving. While you’re shopping, enjoy a drink and some food from R. House to give you energy for a fun and successful shopping experience. 

Shop Small Saturday 

Hosted by the Night Owl Gallery in Highlandtown, you can experience the unique arts district of the area. Joined by Dana Ness of Baltimore Bling and Brittany Herbinko of Artbink and Charm City Goosebumps, there will be plenty of items that you will want to buy including jewelry and clothing you won’t find anywhere else. Enjoy some refreshments provided by Night Owl Gallery to keep you fueled while experiencing what Highlandtown’s art district has to offer. 

Highlandtown Small Business Saturday

Experience a walking tour of Highlandtown Main Street to find the best spots to shop! The tour will begin with a free cup of coffee from High Grounds Coffee Roasters and will continue down Eastern Avenue and into the business/arts district. You even get a chance to compete in a high-stakes raffle for a gift consisting of Highlandtown goodies! To experience all Highlandtown has to offer, and start searching for gifts, this event is the perfect opportunity for you! 

Small Business Saturday Pop-up

Hosted by StudioTen10Ten in Brewer’s Hill, you can check out their Small Business Saturday event at their art studio. There will be tons of items to shop for, including jewelry, body care, beauty products, home decor, and more! Enjoy some food and desserts while you shop around and find the perfect gift you’ve been waiting for.
