Baltimore, Let’s Brunch!: National Brunch Month

Posted April 13th, 2024 brunch, National Brunch Month, restaurants

What’s your go-to brunch order: breakfast food or lunch food? Or maybe a sweet-and-savory combo? Brunch is a chance to start your day right, slow down, and indulge in a delicious meal with loved ones. And if you’re still not convinced: April is National Brunch Month!

Find the Best Brunch in Baltimore

Baltimore certainly knows how to brunch. Check out these spots, all near your home at Luminary:

For a diner-style brunch with funky flair, check out Blue Moon in Fells Point. They have all the hits like French toast, pancakes, eggs, and big mugs of hot coffee to pair with it all. They’re also known for their sweet treats, including a giant handmade cinnamon roll.

There’s nothing better than a sunny spring morning by the water. Head to the Waterfront Hotel for tasty Charm City classics like Maryland crab soup or some crab cakes with eggs. They have a lot of fun cocktails, too! Swifties should order the “Cruel Summer” or “Lavender Haze.”

If you’re a seafood lover, you should check out Gunther’s in Canton. Their oyster bar shucks during brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. After a round of oysters, try an entree, like farm scrambled eggs or their berry French toast featuring house-made brioche.

Craving something specific for brunch? Chances are, The Food Market in Hampden has it. Their wide menu has sandwiches, chicken, eggs, tacos, and plenty more. You can even create your own brunch spread by ordering a few small plates from their “Funchies” menu.

Limoncello’s brunch is only served on Sundays from 10am-3pm. Best of all, they offer bottomless mimosas, Prosecco, Aperol spritzes, or, of course, limoncello spritzes for just $20. Entree options include a pizza monte cristo, crabcake benedict, and more mouth-watering plates.

You don’t need to plan ahead for brunch at Little Havana — their Cuban-inspired brunch menu is available all in Federal Hill. Try a steak melt sub or the Havana omelet with goat cheese and bacon with a side of waterfront views!

Another great Federal Hill brunch destination is The Outpost. They have a wide array of brunch dishes, from shakshuka with shrimp to the “croissanwich.” You’ll want to order a side (or two): try a biscuit with honey butter and berry jam, hash browns, or even truffle fries.

Water for Chocolate might be known for its catering, but their location in Butcher’s Hill is a hidden gem. Brunch highlights include BBQ shrimp and grits, French toast dippers, and the “hungover special,” which consists of goat cheese Mac, bacon, cornbread, and eggs.

Chips and salsa to start your day? Say less. With Maximon’s weekend brunch menu, you can enjoy entrees with Mexican and Southern American flavors right in Harbor East. Try their huevos rancheros or their “norteno,” a hash brown with poached eggs, salsa, queso, and chorizo.

Happy brunching, Luminary residents! We hope you can try some of these spots this National Brunch Month. Let us know if you find a new favorite and tag us on Instagram, @LuminaryLiving.
