On Display Now Near Luminary: Highlandtown Train Garden

Posted December 16th, 2020

All aboard! The Highlandtown Train Garden is back for another year, and it’s a train-lover’s holiday delight. The tiny scene wrapped in bustling trains will look quite familiar. Many of Highlandtown’s favorite streets and attractions are highlighted through the miniature landscape, from the Southeast Anchor Library to the Mimi DiPietro Skating Rink, plus a separate area of old industrial Highlandtown for a little glimpse into the past. The Highlandtown Train Garden is a popular trip for local children, but train enthusiasts or Highlandtown fans of all ages will enjoy the exquisite craftsmanship and unique view of the town. Plus, the whole platform is the work of dedicated volunteers—a task that takes many folks months to build each year.

Visit the Highlandtown Train Garden starting on November 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Don’t forget your mask, and ask about the popular scavenger hunt checklist for an even more interactive visit.
