‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly: COVID-safe Ways to Celebrate the Holidays in Maryland

The Holidays have never looked more different than this 2020. But, this doesn’t have to stop you from spreading Holiday cheer and embracing the season. With Covid safe events, there are plenty of ways to experience the most wonderful time of the year, right here near Luminary at One Light.

Baltimore City

Hampden has filled their streets with lights and holiday goodies for their own Miracle on 34th Street. Wear your best holiday mask and walk the magical streets, visiting local shops and enjoying carryout food.

Experience a world of lights and animals at The Maryland Zoo. This December, you can drive- through the Zoo after hours or walk-through a stunning array of lights, knowing your ticket and time has supported animal care and conservation. Hosted by Four Seasons Hotel, the Winter Village is equipped with a skating rink and live music atop of the fifth-floor terrace! Stay safe and sound by renting a private cabana with a fire pit, while sipping on some European-style hot chocolate.

Westminster, National Harbor, Columbia

With no admission fee, Old Westminster Winery and their holiday team have created a timeless 120ft walk of lights for you and your family and friends! Limited to 6 persons per party, Covid restrictions are taken seriously to keep you safe, but merry and bright!

The National Harbor continues to light their 56-foot Christmas tree up until January 3 on the National Harbor Waterfront District. Once you arrive, they ask all guests follow appropriate social distancing and follow the directions provided. Located in Columbia, Maryland, the Drive Through Symphony of Lights is set up in the historic Merriweather Post Pavilion. You can drive or walk through this wondrous display of animated lights and you will not be disappointed!

Virtual Or Outdoors

Christmas caroling is a tradition quite stumped by the pandemic. But! Polish Christmas Caroling is completely virtual, on Facebook Live, has preserved the tradition. Tune in on December 23 and follow along to songs of the season.

Grab your mask, your paddle board, and your Santa hat and join the Holiday Paddle Party! Paddle along, socially distanced, in your holiday wear in Sparrows Point.

This European-style outdoor holiday market, Merry Main Market, has all the holiday goodies and gifts you might need. Local artisans and small businesses have their best products ready to make you and your loved ones smile! The Wonderland Walk scavenger hunt has 7 train garden displays all around town. Hurry to their last weekend opening this Saturday and Sunday at the Merry Main Market.
