Visit the Museum of Discovery and Science This Winter

Posted January 8th, 2021

The Museum of Discovery and Science has been so eager to welcome back guests after the pandemic, you might hardly recognize this educational playground the next time you visit. In addition to cleaning and new considerations like timed entry, the team has been hard at work adding new STEM demos, directional signage, and more.

What they currently lack in closed exhibits (including the Discovery Center, Dig Pit, and MaxFlight), they more than make up for in a refreshed and less crowded experience. Popular areas like the Makerspace, Florida water story, and Ecoscapes give you plenty to see and do, especially when you don’t have to wade through a crowd to take part. The IMAX Theater is open as well (with limited capacity), so you can still enjoy features like Dinosaurs of Antarctica, Asteroid Hunters, and newly released Wonder Woman 1984.

Visit the website to plan your visit, or to take advantage of virtual tours if you’re still not ready to attend in person. The Museum of Discovery and Science is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
