Posted April 22nd, 2022

At Bird In Hand Cafe & Bookstore, located at 11 East 33rd Street in Baltimore’s Charles Village, you’ll enjoy sustainable coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, all beside a stack of your favorite books! Bird In Hand Cafe & Bookstore melds everything you love about coffee shops and book shops. Owned by Emma Snyder of The Ivy Bookshop in Mt. Washington, Bird In Hand Cafe & Bookstore is a collaboration of The Ivy Bookshop and Artifact Coffee, another beloved Baltimore coffeehouse.

Bird In Hand Cafe & Bookstore’s team strives to provide a style of service that is welcoming to all. Using only local ingredients grown in Maryland’s farming community, Bird In Hand Cafe & Bookstore’s menu includes a coffee bar, espresso bar, and tea bar, as well as specialty drinks like apple cider, hot chocolate, and bottled and canned drinks, and sodas. On the food side, enjoy breakfast dishes like sandwiches, parfaits, and oatmeal. Or, if you’re visiting over lunchtime, opt for a sandwich, tamale, cup of soup, or salad. Book genres sold at the shop include nonfiction, fiction, children’s, art, cooking and gardening, graphic novels, travel, poetry, and young adult. Grab a book, a bite, and something to drink at Bird In Hand Cafe & Bookstore!
