Posted September 7th, 2023 events, local events, neighborhood, Summer, things to do

September has been called the Sunday of summer, but with the variety of local Baltimore events available to Luminary residents, there is no reason to fear the end of summer! Whether you’re looking to grab a drink, participate in a cultural event, or take part in a fun giveaway, Baltimore has something for you.

Pints In the Park

On Friday, September 8, from 5-8 pm, Center Plaza in Downtown Baltimore will play host to Pints in the Park, a relaxed evening full of live music and specialty drinks. Register in advance for a free drink ticket, good for canned wine and delicious, local draft beer from Guilford Hall Brewery. Get your lawn chairs and blankets and come down to enjoy this fun, relaxing event!

Dragon Boat Races

Make your way down to the Inner Harbor on Saturday, September 9 to enjoy the unique and thrilling Baltimore Dragon Boat Races! This annual event benefits local charities and draws thousands of spectators each year, as various philanthropic businesses put together teams for the competition. Races start bright and early at 8am and run through 2pm.

National Grandparents Day

It is crucial to take time to recognize the people that we love the most. Sunday, September 10 marks National Grandparents Day, which can be a great opportunity to reach out to or visit grandparents, be they close by or far away. Some activities for the day can include reading a book with grandparents, taking a walk, or honoring grandparents with kind words.

9/11 Remembrance Day

Every year on September 11, we remember the sacrifices of U.S. citizens and service members on the anniversary of one of the most profound tragedies in our nation’s history. This day is officially designated as Patriot Day, and it is a time to reflect on those we lost on that terrible day and be thankful for those who put their own lives on the line to save others.

Native American Day

September 22 is Native American Day, a day dedicated to the people who have inhabited this land we call home longer than anybody. It celebrates the important contributions Native Americans have made to our nation, and is a great opportunity to take some time to read about the history of the many tribes that inhabit the Americas and learn about their rich cultures.

Pratt Street Market

Running every Thursday from 11am-2pm through September 28, Pratt Street Market features a rotating line-up of food and snack vendors, including Soul Smoked BBQ, Dream Street Cuisine, and Shareef’s. Enjoy some food while catching up with friends, co-workers, or family!

Luminary Events

In addition to the wide array of things to do in Baltimore this September the Luminary community will play host to many fun events and giveaways!

Until Wednesday, September 13, residents will have a chance to enter a raffle for Cocotique self-care products. All you have to do is leave a review for Luminary on any applicable sites (Google, Yelp, Apartments.com, etc.).

On Thursday, September 23, Luminary will host fall-themed events for residents. Fall treats will include light refreshments, apple cider, pumpkin spice coffee, and donuts!

On Saturday, September 25, there will be a ticket giveaway for the Ravens vs. Lions game that’s taking place on October 22!
